HILLCRAFT

What we would build for a marine services and marina

Service slots, berths and charters booked with a deposit. Quotes by boat length. A parts ledger that never loses a fitting.

We build the whole office for a boatyard, marine engineer, charter operator or marina: bookings on your own site with a card deposit, quotes priced from your rate card by length and job, a parts and kit ledger, job cards with photos, invoices in one system, and a native iPhone app for engineers with a hands-free mode below deck. Built from the ground up and owned by you.

Built and delivered remotely from Cheshire, UK · fixed price agreed up front

What goes wrong today

The reservation form forwards to WhatsApp

Charter and tour boats we looked at in Fethiye have a form that ends in a WhatsApp message and no availability. A UK family booking a moonlight cruise from Manchester wants a calendar, a price in pounds and a confirmation, not a chat.

Quotes depend on who answers the phone

Antifouling a 12-metre hull, a lift-out, an engine service: priced differently every time. A rate card by length, job and material on the server prices it the same way for everyone.

Parts vanish between the store and the pontoon

An impeller, a fitting, a length of hose, taken for one boat and never recorded. The ledger shows what left, for which job, and what came back.

Owners abroad want to know the boat is ready

The owner lands Friday and wants to know the service is done and the balance paid before they leave the airport. A status they can see, and a balance they can pay from the phone, saves the call.

What we build for you, from the ground up

  1. Bookings with a card deposit

Service slots, lift-outs, berths and charter departures with real availability, a hold while they decide, a deposit by Apple Pay or card, and confirmation by WhatsApp and email with the pontoon in Apple Maps. The engine behind The Buxton Barber, reshaped for boats.

  2. Quotes by length, job and material

The owner enters the boat's length, engine and the work needed; the server prices labour, materials, lift and VAT from your private rate card and returns a versioned quote to approve. The engine we run for Cheshire Lawns & Hedges.

  3. Job cards with photos

Each boat has a history: jobs, parts fitted, photos before and after, engine hours, and the next service due. The owner sees it; the engineer adds to it from the pontoon.

  4. A parts and kit ledger

Every part issued to a job is an immutable movement; kit out and kit back for tools and test gear; low-stock alerts and supplier order sheets. AWOW Stock, in a boatyard.

  5. Charter and tour sales

Departures with capacity, per-person or whole-boat pricing in pounds, euros and lira, group enquiries above a size, and a manifest for the skipper on the morning.

  6. Berth management for marinas

Berths by length and draught, seasonal and visitor contracts, arrivals and departures on a map, and invoices raised on the contract schedule.

  7. Invoices, expenses and tax

Deposit and balance invoices with PDFs, parts and fuel as expenses, and a tax set-aside from Hillcraft Finance, the system Hillcraft runs itself.

  8. An engineers' iPhone app

Today's boats, the job card, parts to take, photos, and a hands-free mode for the engine bay with large targets and voice notes. Swift on iPhone with an Android twin.

The Apple layer your guests actually notice

Service progress on the owner's lock screen

Lifted, hull done, engine serviced, back in the water: a Live Activity on the owner's iPhone wherever they are, using the same iOS 27 technology Hillcraft Finance ships today.

A charter or berth pass in Apple Wallet

The booking as a Wallet pass with the departure time, the pontoon pinned in Apple Maps, what to bring on the back, and a reminder the evening before.

A QR on the pontoon

Scan the sign at the berth and an App Clip opens to book a service, order fuel or pay a visitor night with Apple Pay. No download.

Hands-free below deck

The engineers' app mode for the engine bay: next task in large type, one tap to complete, Siri for a voice note, torch and camera one tap away.

Owner widgets

Boats in today, lifts this week, parts below floor and what is owed, on the Home Screen.

Payments in Türkiye, done properly

Deposits, balances and charter tickets run through your own account: iyzico, PayTR or your bank's virtual POS in Türkiye, which take UK and EU cards, or Stripe in the UK. Stripe is not available in Türkiye, which is why the payment step is built to your provider. Hillcraft never holds your money; the provider's confirmed status is written to the booking or job the moment it settles.

Questions we get asked

Charters depend on the weather. What happens to a booking?

A cancellation for weather offers the next open departures, keeps the deposit attached, and rewrites the confirmation and the Wallet pass. Refunds go back through the same provider if the guest cannot make another date.

Can owners abroad pay in pounds?

Yes. Prices are held per currency and the checkout uses the provider for that market, so a UK owner pays by card or Apple Pay without a bank transfer.

How is it priced?

Fixed price agreed up front for the whole system after a video call about your services, your rate card and how bookings arrive today.

Does the engineers' app work with no signal in the engine bay?

It caches the day's boats and queues ticks, photos and parts movements until the signal returns, in order.

Who owns the system?

You do: code, boat histories, rate cards and accounts, on your own domain and payment provider.

Tell us what comes into the yard each week.

Send us your services, a recent quote and how a charter is booked today. We reply with a plain description of the booking engine, the quote engine and the engineers' app we would build, delivered remotely from Cheshire with a video call whenever you want one.
