What we would build for a freelancer and professional services
The finance system we run our own business on, rebuilt for yours.
Hillcraft Finance is in daily use on iOS 27: clients, timed work, invoices with PDFs, expenses, a tax set-aside that moves money automatically, and a bank feed that reconciles what came in. For a freelancer, consultant, therapist, tutor or small practice, we rebuild it in your brand, add appointment booking with card deposits if you take sessions, and you own it.

What goes wrong today
Invoices built in a word processor
Copy last month's, change the number, forget a day, send as PDF, chase by message. The hours you worked should already be the invoice.
Tax as a January surprise
The money was spent by the time the bill arrived. A set-aside that moves a share of every settled payment to a savings goal the day it lands makes the bill boring.
Sessions booked by DM
A tutor, a coach or a clinic taking appointments over Instagram loses the no-shows and the evening. A booking page with a hold and a deposit ends both.
Reconciling the bank by eye
Which payment was which invoice, and which client still owes, worked out from a statement at month end.
What we build for you, from the ground up
Clients and timed work
Start a timer or log a block, against a client and a project, with rates per client and a running total of what is billable this month.
Invoices with PDFs
Timed work becomes an invoice in one flow, rendered as a PDF in your brand with a card or Apple Pay link, sent by email, with reminders that retry until the payment lands.
Expenses by photo
Photograph the receipt, pick a category, done. Mileage and recurring costs handled the same way, ready for the accountant as CSV.
Tax set-aside with a tested engine
A shared tax engine with test vectors works out the share to put aside for the UK or Turkish regime you tell it, and the bank integration moves it to a savings goal automatically.
A bank feed that reconciles
Verified webhooks from your bank match settled income to invoices, so what is owed is always current without a statement.
Appointment booking with deposits
If you take sessions: a booking page against your real hours, a hold while they decide, a card deposit, WhatsApp and email confirmations and reminders. The engine behind The Buxton Barber.
Proposals and a client portal
Proposals as versioned documents the client approves in one tap; a portal where they see invoices, pay, and download what you delivered.
A site in your brand
Services, proof of work and the booking or enquiry flow as the call to action, fast, self-hosted fonts, ranking for what you do and where.
The Apple layer your guests actually notice
The timer as a Live Activity
The running timer and today's billable total on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island, shipping in Hillcraft Finance on iOS 27 today.
Widgets for what is owed
Outstanding invoices, this month's income and the tax set aside as Home Screen widgets; App Intents so Siri can start a timer for a client.
An appointment pass in Apple Wallet
For session-based work, the client's booking as a Wallet pass with the time, the address in Apple Maps or the video link, and a reminder.
A QR on your card that books
Scan the QR on a business card and the booking or enquiry opens as an App Clip, no download, Apple Pay ready for a deposit.
On-device summaries
A month summarised on the phone with Apple's on-device intelligence, as Hillcraft Finance does, with nothing sent to a third party.
Payments in Türkiye, done properly

Questions we get asked
Is this an off-the-shelf app with my logo?
No. Hillcraft Finance is our own system, and for you it is rebuilt as your own: your brand, your tax regime, your bank, your App Store listing, code you own.
Which banks does the feed work with?
UK banks through open banking providers; Turkish banks where an API or statement export is available. We confirm yours on the first video call.
How is it priced?
Fixed price agreed up front after a video call about how you bill and whether you take sessions. Because the system exists, the price reflects adaptation rather than a build from nothing.
Can my accountant get what they need?
Yes. Invoices, expenses and income export as CSV or PDF by period, and an accountant login can be added.
Who owns the data?
You do, on your own server or ours at cost, with a full export at any time and the code in your name.
Tell us how you invoice today.
One sentence about your work and whether you take appointments. We reply with a plain description of the finance system and the booking we would build, delivered remotely from Cheshire with a video call whenever you want one.
